Michael Avaricio, MD
Cardiologist
Dr. Michael Avaricio, MD is a board-certified cardiologist serving patients in Rego Park and Ozone Park, New York. A graduate of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (NYC), Dr. Avaricio completed his internal medicine training and went on to become a Chief Medical Resident within the North Shore–Long Island Jewish (Northwell) Healthcare System, before finishing advanced cardiovascular training at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn.
Recognized for patient-centered care, Dr. Avaricio was named a Patients’ Choice Award Winner (2012) and was also added to the American Registry™ of Business Excellence. He served as an Assistant Professor at the NYU School of Medicine and holds hospital privileges/affiliations across major New York cardiac centers, including NYU, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital (Manhasset), and New York Hospital of Queens.
Known for a compassionate, hands-on approach, Dr. Avaricio provides comprehensive cardiovascular evaluations and diagnostics, including stress testing (nuclear and echocardiogram-based), peripheral vascular exams, cardiac electrophysiology, EKGs and T-wave alternans, and pacemaker/defibrillator follow-ups, as well as preventive screenings such as cholesterol and hypertension checks. His multilingual team supports patients in Tagalog, English, and Spanish, and the practice accepts major insurance plans.
